Call for papers: First International Symposium on Lexicography and L2

Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to remind you that the First International Symposium on Lexicography and L2 Teaching and Learning will take place at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in November 26-28, 2008. Would you please remember that the deadline for abstract submission ii July 30, 2008. The Organizing Committee of the Symposium will invite worldwide renowned scholars as keynote speakers for Plenary and Hot Topic Sessions.

TOPICS OF THE SYMPOSIUM

(1) Learner’s dictionary research, compiling and publishing;

(2) Learner’s dictionary and L2 (esp. ESL and C[hinese]SL) teaching & learning;

(3) Learner’s needs analysis and dictionary making;

(4) Learner corpus and dictionary making;

(5) Computer-aided dictionary making and dictionary data access.

An exhibition of dictionaries and lexicographic works will be organized during the Symposium. Dictionary publishers, lexicographers and linguists can send their works to the Organizing Committee (or bring them here) for the Exhibition.

WORKING LANGUAGES: English and Chinese. Simultaneous interpretation is provided for Plenary and Hot Topic Sessions.
