Higher education funding opportunities

Higher Education for Development (HED), in cooperation with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), has the following funding opportunities available to U.S. colleges and universities to work in partnership with institutions in developing countries.

Burundi: Strengthening Rural Agriculture Development [http://www.hedprogram.org/tabid/66/itemid/160/Burundi-Strengthening-Rural-Agriculture-Developme.aspx] One (1) award of up to $450,000 for a three-year partnership with the University of Ngozi to strengthen its capacity for teaching, applied research, and agricultural extension. Applications due: July 28, 2008

Egypt: Executive Master’s in Business Administration [http://www.hedprogram.org/tabid/66/itemid/162/Egypt-Executive-Masters-in-Business-Administrati.aspx] One (1) award, of up to $1.5 million, for a two-year higher education partnership with the Alexandria University Faculty of Commerce (AUFC) in Egypt to strengthen its Executive Master’s in Business Administration (EMBA) program that is designed to attract working professionals with five to six years of experience. Paraguay: Strengthening Training in Health Information Systems, Health Statistics and Epidemiology [http://www.hedprogram.org/tabid/96/itemid/147/Paraguay-Strengthening-Training-in-Health-Informa.aspx] One (1) award of up to $300,000 for a three-year higher education partnership to strengthen the capacity of higher education in Paraguay to enhance the gathering and sharing of public health information and health statistics and improve training in epidemiology.
